If you're thinking about studying in England, Scotland, or Wales, you need to consider how much it will be. We've put together some basic costs you need to be aware of.

Fees 學費
Students at first think that tuition fees in the UK are expensive compared to the US. However, in the UK, Master of Arts degrees (MA), Master of Science degrees(MSc), and Master of Business Administration degrees (MBA) are studied over one year not two. This makes the UK potentially much cheaper than the US.

Remember the course fees you pay will depend largely on the course you want to take and the university you want to study at. Some courses such as MBAs are usually expensive everywhere, but course fees will vary between universities. Fees vary between £9,500 and £20,000.

Living Expenses 生活費
London is more expensive than the rest of the UK, and most things will cost more too. There are a number of expenses which students face bur the biggest expense will be accommodation. This will vary depending on where in the country you stay. After this will come other costs such as utility costs, food, travel, and the cost of things for the course like books.

University Accommodation 宿舍費

Remember, accommodation in London and in the South-East of England will generally be more expensive.

The deposit for University accommodation is £200. Most contracts are for 42 weeks, though catered accommodation is for 39 weeks. 51 week contracts are available in some accommodation for Postgraduates.
The rent in University accommodation includes utilities (gas, water and electricity).

It is important to remember that rents vary widely according to facilities and area. Deposits for private accommodation vary from around £250 - £300 and are often one month's rent.
Contracts are usually for 12 months, running from 1 July to 30 June.

Utilities (gas, water and electricity) are not usually included in the rent in private accommodation. These need to be paid separately. Common bills (from whatprice) :

Water is often an annual bill, so arranging to pay it monthly by direct debit can be a good way to control payments.

Food 食物費
The National Union of Students (NUS) estimates that students spend £25 a week on food on average in the UK. However, it is easy to spend much more on food if you eat out a lot. In the UK, most people cook and eat at home for most meals.

Travel 交通費
You may need to travel from your accommodation to your university, and this is also something you should budget for. You should also find out about any travel discounts you are entitled to. For example, in London, Students can get a student Oyster card giving them a 30 per cent discount on travel on the London Underground and buses.

Setting up may also contain a number of expenses. Students may need to buy things like bedding and pots and pans. Also, some foreign students may need to register with the police, and this will cost £34.
